DEBATE: Is the Hadith Essential to Quran? Sunni Vs Quran-Only
"The catastrophic consequences of not following the hadith are so severe that we are forced to follow it. Because they don't follow the hadith. And let me give you another one, why do we have all these diseases like AIDS and Ebola and COVID? Because they don't follow the hadith."
Nadir argued that the Hadith's guidance on avoiding consumption of animals with fangs and other hygiene practices is critical to preventing zoonotic diseases like Ebola, AIDS, and COVID-19. He maintained that the Hadith is therefore the greatest guide for humanity, regardless of internal contradictions, because the cost of ignoring it is catastrophic. His opponent Muhammad countered that the Quran already provides sufficient moral and practical guidance without requiring a secondary text.
