DEBATE: Is the Hadith Essential to Quran? Sunni Vs Quran-Only
"Inside the Doctrina Jacobi, in this doctrine, this is 2 to 20 years after the death of the Prophet of Islam. It talked about the keys of paradise. Muhammad used to say he had the keys of paradise. This is found in the authentic hadith."
Nadir presented early Christian sources—including Doctrina Jacobi (634 CE) and writings by John of Damascus—as evidence that Muslims were following Hadith traditions within 20 to 50 years of Muhammad's death. He cited references to the keys of paradise, circumcision, and kissing the Black Stone, arguing these prove the Hadith's essential role in early Islam. Muhammad did not directly dispute the historical references but questioned their relevance to whether Hadith is divinely mandated.
