The 1968 military leadership classic Once an Eagle surged to number two on Amazon's military category after being prominently featured in the Dark Wolf series. Author Jack Carr, who used to give the book to junior leaders with personalized letters, is now working to reprint the out-of-print novel with his own foreword and afterword. The book's core lesson is that focusing on character allows reputation to take care of itself.
