"No joke, I had a few buddies that were staying with me here and there during the shoot, and they'd be tripping and stepping on these, these shells on the floor. Yeah. So I would sit on the couch, watch hockey, whatever it is, and just be sitting there doing reload after reload after reload, and then I'd send videos to Mendoza and he'd be like, you're still shit, keep going."
Kitsch spent extensive time practicing shotgun combat reloads for Dark Wolf, working with SEAL advisor Ray Mendoza to ensure authenticity. He practiced repeatedly in his rental house, sending videos for critique until the technique was perfect. The dedication paid off with no criticism of the gunwork from military community viewers who typically scrutinize tactical scenes.
