"Now we have two Supreme Court justices presently, Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett, who have written in the past before they were justices about their opposition to medical aid in dying. So I wouldn't be surprised if like abortion, it comes again before the Supreme Court."
Roth revealed that both Justice Neil Gorsuch and Justice Amy Coney Barrett have written opposing medical aid in dying before joining the Court, predicting the issue could reach the Supreme Court similar to abortion. He noted that 12 or 13 U.S. states now allow medical aid in dying under restrictive circumstances, and cited Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman's decision to travel to Switzerland to end his life as an example of fertility tourism for end-of-life care.
