What was said
"Khamzat Chimaev, I have described as my favorite fighter, the most electrifying force in the game. I haven't had a fighter meeting with him since probably Fight Island. Wow. So, wow, which is fine, you know. I mean, so is it optional or is it— no, I mean, the overwhelming majority of fighters show up."
UFC play-by-play announcer Jon Anik revealed that top contender Khamzat Chimaev has not attended a fighter meeting since Fight Island, highlighting how rarely some elite fighters participate in mandatory pre-fight briefings. Anik contrasted this with stars like Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya, who never miss meetings or show up late. The comment suggests a pattern among certain high-profile fighters who skip these preparatory sessions.
