Catholic Apologist Claims Quran Unwittingly Affirms Jesus as Divine Figure
What was said
"Daniel's Quran, a little sticky truth there, it affirms my Bible. And my Bible, the words of Jesus, say he is that Son of Man, and that Son of Man of Daniel 7 has that authority."
William Albrecht argued that the Quran's affirmation of the Gospels—specifically when Jesus speaks—creates an internal contradiction for Muslims, because Jesus identifies himself as the Son of Man from Daniel 7, a figure receiving worship reserved for God alone. He pressed Daniel repeatedly on this point, arguing that the Muslim interlocutor must accept the divinity claims Jesus makes in the Christian scriptures if the Quran validates those texts. This represents a novel apologetic tactic targeting Islamic theology's selective acceptance of biblical texts.
