What was said
"I get into the garage and I'm literally taking the boys out of their stroller and I get a call from my mom. And she says, hey, we're at the beach, and we're at that bookstore that you always loved. And I just got the boys something that I think they'll really enjoy. Do they have a copy of Aesop's Fables? Now— We all have this story."
Kutchen obsessed about buying Aesop's Fables for his sons immediately upon returning from rehab. Before he could order it, his mother called from a distant beach town bookstore saying she had just bought that exact book for them without any prior communication. He interprets the synchronicity as confirmation that his sobriety and life transformation aligned with archetypal narrative patterns. His therapist at the rehab center grew up in Point Pleasant during the Mothman flap when John Keel was researching there.
