Researcher Claims All Paranormal Phenomena Connected to Death or the Afterlife

"I think that to your original question, that death keeps on cropping up because we're kind of misinterpreting what that moment is, what that NDE moment is. I just think it's one expression of these threshold moments. I would posit rather that we have these threshold events where we go and we come back different. And I don't know what that other space is."

Joshua Kutchen argues that UFOs, fairies, Bigfoot, ghosts, and near-death experiences are different manifestations of the same phenomenon related to death and thresholds to another realm. His book Ecology of Souls is taught by Jeffrey Kripal at Rice University. Kutchen presents ethnographic evidence from shamanic initiations to alien abductions showing identical narrative structures, food taboos, and tunnel experiences suggesting contact with what cultures have always called the other world.
