The Hidden Reason You Feel Exhausted & How to Feel Better Now
"You might be surprised that about 95% of your body's serotonin comes from your gut. Not your brain, comes from the gut. Without it, you and I would be collapsed on the ground right now like a little baby. A baby has very little serotonin in its body because it hasn't yet colonized its gut."
Dr. Spiegel explained that the vast majority of the body's serotonin is produced in the gut by the microbiome, not the brain, and this serotonin is essential for muscle strength and gravity management. He suggested the gut-microbiome system evolved to produce serotonin that literally allows humans to stand upright and maintain posture against gravitational pull.
