"I hadn't talked to him for over 10 years. And then, you know, I had this awakening, picked up the phone and called him. I said, hey Dad, this is Miles. How are you? I don't wanna know about the past. How's everything going? Talked for about, I want to say it was like 45 seconds. But it was like a really nice closing a chapter and then opening a chapter."
Chamlee-Watson revealed he reconnected with his biological father after more than a decade of no contact, prompted by a spiritual journey and understanding his childhood behavioral issues stemmed from trauma. He called simply to check in without dwelling on the past, a 45-second conversation that provided closure. He credits his mother and stepfather for raising him and has never seen his biological father attend a fencing match.
