Montefiore alleges that Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, went beyond seeking German support against British rule and expressed ideological alignment with Nazism and antisemitism. He describes this as a turning point that later included close contact with senior Nazi leaders during the Second World War.
