Lieberman says the idea that omega-6-rich seed oils increase inflammation isn’t supported by human studies

What was said
"However, people have done studies. They give people like you and me, they go sit in a lab, they give people omega-6 fatty acids and then measure whether their metabolism does that. Turns out that doesn't. There's no evidence, and there are quite a few studies, my book cites them, you can go look them up, where increasing the amount of omega-6 fatty acids actually increases inflammation. It was a fear, but the fear turns out not to be the case."
Lieberman outlines a biochemical pathway by which omega-6 fats could, in theory, contribute to inflammatory compounds, but says human feeding studies don’t show that increasing omega-6 intake increases inflammation. He adds that epidemiological studies he cites associate higher omega-6 intake with better health outcomes, including lower risks of heart disease and some cancers.
