Lieberman says calorie-restriction longevity evidence ‘not even’ shown in primates

Harvard Professor: “I Tried Every Diet. This Is By Far The Worst.” - Daniel Lieberman
"So the NIH redid the experiment and this time they had On the same monkey chow diet. Just chopped one in half or whatever. And one had 30% less food than the other. And guess what? No difference. Zilch in terms of health and longevity."
Discussing calorie restriction as a longevity strategy, Lieberman says a headline-making Wisconsin macaque study was confounded because the control group were effectively fed an unhealthy, obesity-promoting diet. He claims a later NIH replication using comparable diets, with a 30% calorie reduction arm, found no difference in longevity or health outcomes.
