"So, according to the Constitution, there's something called the 22nd Amendment, which says that um a US president may not sit for more than two terms. But there's a loophole. The loophole is imagine 2028, Dawn Jr. is at the top of the ticket and Donald Trump is the vice president. They win and then uh Don Jr. he resigns and then Donald Trump is now the president again."
Asked about US stability, Professor Jiang says the midterms will test cohesion and predicts Trump may attempt to return for a third term despite the 22nd Amendment. He describes a scenario where Donald Trump Jr. runs for president with Trump as vice-president and then resigns, allowing Trump to assume the presidency, presenting it as a ‘strong possibility’.
