Conor McGregor BREAKS SILENCE on Legal Issues & Controversy; Ariel Helwani Reacts to New Information
"I'm an innocent man, and I stand for my innocence until the day I go out. And that is still a situation where I fight. There's a reason it didn't go where it went and it went to a civil trial. It is what it is. It stings deep. I continue to fight. I know the truth, and I know that lying lips are an abomination to the Lord. And I know that anything done in darkness will soon come to light, and I trust in God that it's coming. You best believe it's coming."
When asked about being found liable for sexual assault in a November 2024 civil trial, McGregor doubled down on his innocence claims and invoked religious language. He suggested new evidence will eventually emerge to vindicate him and emphasized the case went to civil rather than criminal court. The response comes as he faces questions about whether he deserves a platform to return to UFC competition.
