Peterson directly attacks the leadership of Canada's United Church, claiming its leader is an atheist and that the denomination has become so ideologically captured by progressive causes that it now worships pride rather than God. He characterizes this as among the worst possible theological perversions. This is a pointed institutional critique of one of Canada's largest Protestant denominations.
