Trump Administration Has No Intention of Honoring Iran MOU, Says Former Indian Colonel

"My present assessment is that America is not serious at all about implementing the MOU and I say this because of two reasons. The first reason is that on 1st of July under the central command commander that is Admiral Brad Cooper in Bahrain a conference was held a security conference was held which was attended by 12 nations and where for the first time Syria and Lebanon were also there I'm talking of the region West Asia and what they discussed there was basically a security umbrella which will be required for the state of Hormuz. Now this directly contradicts first of all the MOU because the MOU very clearly says that as far as state of Hormuz is concerned in fact that whole waterway is concerned that is the sovereignty of Iran and Oman."
Former Indian military analyst Pravin Sawhney claims the Trump administration is undermining the recently signed Iran-US MOU by establishing alternative security arrangements in West Asia. He cites a July 1st Central Command conference in Bahrain involving Syria and Lebanon to create a security umbrella for the Strait of Hormuz, directly contradicting the MOU's provisions recognizing Iranian-Omani sovereignty. Sawhney also points to the signing of a permanent US embassy agreement in Jerusalem as evidence Trump favors Greater Israel over regional peace.
