Hancock Warns Modern Civilization Mirrors Mythological Pattern Leading to Self-Destruction

What was said

"When I look at our civilization today, I see a civilization that ticks all the mythological boxes for the next lost civilization, and that we are most likely to be the cause of that cataclysm ourselves, unless we wake up. There's always this feeling in the myths that we brought this upon ourselves."

Drawing on global flood myths, Hancock argued that ancient stories consistently blame human hubris and moral corruption for triggering cataclysms. He explicitly warned that modern civilization exhibits the same patterns—technological advancement paired with low consciousness leadership and divisiveness—that myths say preceded previous civilizational collapse, suggesting nuclear war or environmental catastrophe could make us the next lost civilization.
