Randall Carlson presented deep drilling evidence from the Azores showing deposits 786 meters below sea level that were once subaerial or shallow marine, requiring 556 meters of subsidence beyond what post-glacial sea level rise accounts for. He argues this precisely matches Plato's date for Atlantis sinking and correlates with Meltwater Pulse 1B at 11,600 years ago, supporting his theory that the Azores microcontinent is the most likely location for Atlantis.
