NASA's OSIRIS-REx asteroid sample return mission discovered all nucleobases used in human DNA and RNA on asteroid Bennu, along with bases not used by Earth life. Thaller called this a profound discovery supporting panspermia theory—that the building blocks of life literally rain down from space on asteroids.
