President Trump flatly rejected any deal giving Iran and Oman control over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most critical oil chokepoints. He declared the US will watch over the international waters and threatened military action against Oman if it attempts to assert control, marking an unusually aggressive public threat against the Gulf sultanate during ongoing Iran negotiations.
