Diary of a CEO
Bruno Fernandes: Roy Keane Twisted My Words. They Offered Me £200M, I Said No.
What was said
"I spoke with Tottenham and we were very close to get an agreement done. Then in the last 2 days or 1 day of market, Sporting just said we're not going to sell him, we're going to keep him because we need him."
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes disclosed that he was extremely close to signing with Tottenham Hotspur before his eventual move to Old Trafford in January 2020. Sporting blocked the transfer at the last moment, keeping him for several more months before United came calling with an offer he called the realization of his dream.
