"My husband Abraham has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer. He faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months. At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side."
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced her resignation effective June 30th to care for her husband Abraham, who was diagnosed with an extremely rare bone cancer. Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman and one of Trump's most prominent bipartisan cabinet appointments, oversaw all U.S. intelligence agencies. Her departure marks another loss of a non-interventionist voice in the Trump administration alongside other recent exits.
