"I've been stabbed, I can't breathe. I don't think you have, mate."
British police handcuffed 18-year-old Scottish student Henry Nowak as he bled to death from four stab wounds, while his attacker Vikram Digwa—who was carrying ceremonial Sikh knives—was not restrained. Police accepted Digwa's claim that Nowak had used a racial slur without examining the victim's injuries. Body camera footage shows Nowak repeatedly saying he was stabbed while officers dismissed his claims. The case has sparked international outrage over UK policing priorities and race-related enforcement.
