Michael Douglas says he was renting a Los Angeles house previously occupied by record producer Terry Melcher, whom he describes as the person Charles Manson believed lived at the Sharon Tate house. Douglas recounts finding that his then-partner’s two cats had been dismembered in the yard, and says that after the later Manson murders the incidents were “tied together”.
