Smirnoff recounts a night he says helped shape Sam Kinison’s screaming style

What was said

"“So, it's midnight and we're all going whoever lived there going to the comedy store and Sam gets on stage and start screaming. This is the first time that he ever got on stage and he went to the and there very few people in the audience and he went into their face.”"

Yakov Smirnoff recounts living in a Comedy Store-associated house and socialising with other comics, including Sam Kinison and Andrew Dice Clay. He says that after a late-night suggestion to go “scream” at the Comedy Store instead of the house, Kinison went on stage and began screaming—an episode Smirnoff describes as the first time Kinison performed that way.
