"Tony Blinken, the Secretary of State, went to NATO in March of 2021. Our NATO allies said, don't leave. This is ridiculous. We're going to undercut the Afghan government, any leverage they have. He went back, he told that to Biden. Biden just didn't listen."
Peter Bergen alleges NATO allies warned in March 2021 that a US withdrawal would weaken the Afghan government. He claims Antony Blinken relayed those concerns to President Joe Biden, who proceeded anyway.
