Big Think
The 28-day cycle, and other myths of menstruation | Jen Gunter: Full Interview
"When you get a compounded product, you have none of that research and development. You do not know if the product will be absorbed well. You do not know if the vehicle it's being compounded with has been studied."

She says compounded hormones are not batch-tested like licensed products and may lack comparable warning labels, which she claims can mislead patients about safety.
