"The great majority of vitamins are owned by drug companies, chemical companies. They produce a lot of the vitamins. Are they interested in quality? No. This is why the top-selling multivitamin, the first ingredient is calcium carbonate. That's limestone. Their primary interest is margins."
Dr. Berg accused the pharmaceutical and chemical industries of deliberately producing low-quality supplements to maximize profits rather than health outcomes. He claimed the top-selling multivitamins contain limestone as the primary ingredient and that drug companies control most of the supplement market with cheap synthetic ingredients from China. This represents a direct attack on the mainstream supplement industry's integrity.
