Horowitz argues that Sigmund Freud’s engagement with parapsychology was minimised in how Freud is commonly taught, including in university psychology courses. He attributes part of this to Freud biographer Ernest Jones, who Horowitz says feared Freud’s parapsychology interests would undermine psychoanalysis’ status as a medical science, and to material reportedly withheld until after Freud’s death.
