Discussing the reported plan to de-orbit the International Space Station around 2030-31, Neil deGrasse Tyson argues the looming retirement could become a political pressure point for increased US space funding. He suggests warning lawmakers about China’s space ambitions and possible military advantage is an argument that would move Congress, while also noting much of the ISS would burn up on re-entry and that the Pacific is the most likely disposal zone.
