Andy Stumpf contrasts conventional SEAL team training—where he says operators cycle through many skill blocks—with DEVGRU, which he describes as concentrating heavily on close-quarters assault and repeat rehearsals in a kill house. He says that special operations forces are generally kinetic, but argues JSOC units are even more narrowly focused because commanders expect that specific capability in theatre.
