"Increasing the amount of choline in your system can after a few biochemical steps increase the amount of TMAO that is circulating in your body. Now TMAO can be increased by any number of things, fish, meat, etc. Anything that increases choline levels can do this, but alpha GPC does it pretty potently."
Andrew Huberman says alpha-GPC (600–900mg) can be a non-caffeine option for late-day strength training, claiming it can boost focus without harming sleep and may slightly increase REM sleep. He cautions that raising choline may increase TMAO, and says one study linked long-term, high-dose use with higher stroke and cardiovascular risk; he adds that garlic may reduce TMAO production.
