"Sober. I don't smoke weed either. I gotta be, I gotta be sober, right? Clarity of mind."
In a discussion about his studio routine, Lamar tells Stern he does not drink alcohol and does not smoke cannabis. He says he avoids weed so he does not later attribute creative decisions to intoxication, describing sobriety as necessary for “clarity of mind”.
