Strieber alleges US documents were moved to EG&G facility to evade FOI laws

What was said

"People began to complain that there were trucks going to the EG&G Roton facility in Woodstock, uh, waking, keeping them awake all night. And apparently there were documents being moved in large quantities to that facility from goodness knows where. But wherever they were coming from I would guess were government facilities. EG&G Roton is a private facility and every document that went in there moved out of the freedom of information umbrella and was no longer accessible."

Whitley Strieber claims that, in the early 1990s, residents near Woodstock, New York complained about overnight truck traffic to the EG&G Roton site, which he alleges involved large-scale movement of government documents. He argues that placing records in a private contractor’s custody would remove them from Freedom of Information access. The claim is presented as his inference based on local complaints and the nature of the facility, without documents shown in the episode.
