Jack Whitehall's Queen Joke and the Michael Jackson Sketch That Never Aired
"A couple of days later, Prince Philip went to hospital with a urinary infection. And I said, it was her anniversary, he ended up with a urinary infection, and she didn't want to sit down. Which leads me to believe they celebrated in the way that a lot of couples celebrate an anniversary."
Jack Whitehall recounts being attacked in UK newspapers after a televised joke he made during the Queen’s jubilee celebrations, which he says prompted audience groans but later escalated into a wider row. He tells Bill Maher the coverage included Daily Mail attention and “a couple of” Ofcom complaints, which he felt became a disproportionate media cycle.
