"I'm in the car. I shouldn't have been picking up the phone, but these doctors are really hard to reach. And she said she'd call either way, so I didn't think it was a thing of only calling with bad news. And she was like, I think everything's gonna be okay, but I don't know. And there's some suspicious cellular groupings and I think we wanna do another MRI. So I was scared and then I went and presented and then— How'd you present? Were you good? I think I smashed it because I might be a psychopath."
Jackie Tohn received a call from her doctor on the way to present at the Creative Arts Emmys informing her of suspicious cellular groupings on her breast MRI requiring additional testing. Despite the frightening news suggesting possible cancer, she proceeded to present at the ceremony and delivered what she described as a strong performance.
