"One agency that I'm particularly mad at is the FDA. If you go to their website and look at their mission statement, their mission statement is to protect the public from harmful products, devices, and things like that. We have had many hearings in the Senate. We have had families reach out to them directly. People who have been in trial of the medications who had these adverse events right away. And FDA has not done their job, and they're still not doing their job."
Dr. Kat Lindley, director of the Independent Medical Alliance fellowship program, directly accused the FDA of failing its core mission to protect Americans from harmful products despite Senate hearings and reports of adverse events from COVID vaccine trial participants and their families. She argues the FDA continues recommending vaccines for elderly and high-risk populations despite evidence of harm, protecting pharmaceutical companies rather than public health.

About this episode

Redacted host interviews Dr. Kat Lindley, director of the Independent Medical Alliance fellowship program, about HHS announcing the official end of the COVID-19 pandemic emergency on June 29, 2026, despite declaring the emergency effectively over now. The announcement rescinding emergency use authorization for COVID vaccines and treatments like remdesivir prompted sharp criticism from both the host and Dr. Lindley, who argue the government has provided no accountability for pandemic-era policies or safeguards against future overreach. Dr. Lindley directly accused the FDA of failing its core mission to protect Americans from harmful products, citing Senate hearings and reports of adverse vaccine events that were ignored. She claims the agency continues recommending COVID vaccines for elderly and immunocompromised populations while protecting pharmaceutical interests rather than public health. The discussion highlighted concerns that mRNA technology is now being deployed for flu vaccines without proper safety review. Dr. Lindley warned the government has learned nothing from COVID-19 and predicted similar emergency measures will be imposed for future outbreaks involving viruses like Ebola or Marburg. Both emphasized the impossibility of fully tabulating pandemic damage, including excess deaths, vaccine injuries, lost educational opportunities, and erosion of public trust in medical institutions. The episode argues that without formal postmortem analysis and institutional reform, Americans remain vulnerable to repeated emergency authorizations and mandates. The United States' recent exit from the World Health Organization was noted as the only positive development preventing external influence on future pandemic policy.
