Comedian defends Tourette's sufferer at BAFTAs after Hollywood elites accused him of racism

“My Autism Keeps Upsetting People” - Vittorio Angelone
"Fuck everybody that was mean to him. After— we've known about it in the UK. I don't ever remember a time of not knowing about Tourette's. All these Hollywood actors coming out and being like, I think he meant that. Why was that word in his brain? And I'm like, because it's the worst thing you could say in that moment. And that's the condition."
Angelone expresses anger over the treatment of a school caretaker with Tourette's syndrome who had an involuntary outburst at the BAFTAs. Hollywood actors including Jamie Foxx accused the man of racism and he received death threats, despite the condition being well-documented. Angelone argues the man, who works as a janitor, faced worse consequences than the wealthy celebrities on stage and that Academy members should have watched the documentary about him before judging.
