Canada STRIKES BACK against Trump as US AMBASSADOR CRASHES!!!
What was said
"As far as I can tell, and I've talked to historians and all of that, it's probably the first time in American history that a foreign country came into the United States of America and tried to influence our politics, uh, and our policies through electioneering."
US Ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra accused Canada of running political ads in the United States during election season, calling it unprecedented foreign interference in American politics. Hoekstra specifically criticized ads featuring Ronald Reagan quotes that Canada ran in response to Trump administration rhetoric about making Canada the 51st state. The ambassador's comments escalate diplomatic tensions between the two nations amid ongoing trade disputes and tariff conflicts.
