At a Washington DC 250th anniversary fair event, a large piece of stage equipment fell dangerously close to performers during a dance routine. The hosts criticized the apparent use of non-union labor and noted that unlike normal events where such incidents would trigger an immediate safety shutdown, the performance simply continued. The incident highlighted potential safety violations at the federally-organized event.
