What was said
"Currently United States production of phosphate fertilizer is insufficient to support domestic agriculture food production after accounting for exports."
The Trump administration's State Department issued an emergency declaration authorizing temporary duty-free importation of phosphate fertilizer from Morocco, acknowledging that U.S. domestic production cannot meet agricultural needs. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins admitted fertilizer prices remain extremely high while the agricultural community struggles, contradicting Trump's public claims about farmers experiencing a golden age.
