Second Ransom Note Revealed: Nancy Guthrie Perished Shortly After Abduction, Buried With Nature
Reality Check with Ross Coulthart
Chilling ransom note: ‘Hello Savannah. We have your mother, Nancy’ | Drop Dead Serious
What was said
"We never intended to hurt her in all of this. She perished shortly after she was taken. She was buried with nature. Nothing you could have done could have changed the outcome, and we are truly sorry."
Reporter Brianna Whitney, who worked for Arizona Family at the time and saw the actual second ransom note, has disclosed its exact wording for the first time. The note uses unusual phrasing like 'perished' and 'buried with nature,' suggesting possibly non-native English speakers, and admits Nancy died shortly after being taken while expressing remorse.
