"I was frozen. I couldn't go anywhere. Now, I've never, I've told this in a church, but I've never even told this in my church. I've never talked about this because I know what it sounds like. And I wouldn't blame anybody for thinking this guy He does have combat fatigue. You know, he's a total fruitcake. I couldn't move. I was just like, there was no more stepping. I was just, but I was like sitting in a park. I mean, it wasn't uncomfortable."
Forty years after hearing Mitchell Page's Guadalcanal story, Johnny Clark claims he experienced an identical supernatural event on a hiking trail in North Carolina when struggling with PTSD. Clark says he was frozen mid-step, then heard an audible voice telling him to walk further, leading him to a boulder with Psalm 121 engraved on it—the same verse that was Page's favorite. Clark says multiple subsequent confirmations including magazine articles and church songs all referenced the same verse, which he interprets as God confirming the experience was real.
