Brand Reveals Self-Centered Mindset During Prison Event and Hostage Negotiations

What was said

"One time I was invited to participate in international hostage negotiations. Not once did I consider the hostages. Like, how does this affect me though? What will I be wearing? What should I wear for these hostage negotiations? Think about the hostages. What's this voice? Shut up, leave me alone, I'm busy."

Russell Brand confessed that when invited to international hostage negotiations, he obsessed over his appearance and status rather than the hostages themselves. He also admitted feeling insecure about Benedict Cumberbatch arriving late to a prison reading event, worrying it meant the actor was more important. The revelation illustrates Brand's claimed transformation from self-centeredness to faith.
