What was said
"Islam Makhachev looking to defend his 170 belt for the very first time against Ian Machado Garry. Machado Garry had been banging the drum for this for months on end. Michael Morales obviously in the talks, but it felt like over the last few weeks those had kind of dissolved, and it was becoming clearer and clearer that we would get Ian Machado Garry."
The UFC officially announced Islam Makhachev will defend his welterweight title against Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330 in Philadelphia in August. The co-main features Mackenzie Dern defending her strawweight belt against Gillian Robertson, with notable absence of Weili Zhang, who vacated the title to move up but has been inactive since November.
