Those federal dollars are flowing into CARE California's coffers even after it was the target of a recent DOJ investigation."
A new City Journal investigation reveals California directed $41 million in federal funds to CAIR over five years, including a $23 million grant in September 2025, despite an ongoing DOJ investigation. Shapiro notes CAIR was founded by individuals with alleged Hamas links, making the funding particularly controversial.
