Reality TV star Spencer Pratt held an 8-point lead over Nithya Raman in the LA mayoral race on election night June 2nd but lost his position as mail-in ballots arriving after election day were counted. Charts showed Raman gaining 82,500 votes while Pratt gained only 44,000 during the post-election counting period. Critics pointed to the statistical improbability of such a dramatic swing occurring exclusively in late-arriving ballots.
