"I got in trouble with all kinds of governments, with the Muslim Brotherhood, the military, and the Muslim Brotherhood. I was arrested. I was interrogated. I had like being interrogated for my jokes. And then the military had my shows canceled a couple of times."
Bassem Youssef, a former cardiac surgeon turned comedian, disclosed that his Egyptian TV show—which drew 40 million viewers per episode—was repeatedly canceled and that he faced arrest and interrogation by both the Muslim Brotherhood and military governments for his comedy.
